Convergent Design introduces the Odyssey7Q+, an upgraded version of the Odyssey7Q monitor/recorder, now with added 4K recording support via HDMI. Sporting a 7.7″ OLED touchscreen display boasting a resolution of 1280 x 800 and a striking 3400:1 contrast ratio, it delivers true blacks and professional-grade monitoring features including waveform, histogram, vectorscope, anamorphic de-squeeze, and 3D LUT support. Out of the box, the Odyssey7Q+ records up to DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) and Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) in Apple ProRes 422 HQ format or up to 2K/1080p in uncompressed DPX format. The included Titan Extract option enables the creation of multiple HD windows from a single 4K source.
Equipped with two 3G-SDI inputs (6G-SDI compatible with firmware v2016.01), two 3G-SDI outputs, and two versatile bi-directional 3G-SDI connectors, assignable as inputs or outputs via menu settings. Additionally, it offers a 4K-ready HDMI input and an HDMI output supporting up to 1080p30 4:2:2. Most connectivity ports are located at the bottom, while the sides feature 1/4″-20 mounting threads. Dual SSD slots accommodate Convergent Design Premium 2.5″ SSDs, renowned for their speed, reliability, and power-loss protection, with select Samsung SSDs also supported for cost-effective recording. The device comes with an AC adapter for power, with optional battery plates available for enhanced portability. Also included are a 36″ Micro HDMI to HDMI cable and a HDMI to Mini HDMI adapter, facilitating compatibility with DSLRs and mirrorless cameras featuring Micro HDMI outputs.
